Ausstellung des Informationszentrum GeoPark mit einer großen Landkarte

"GeoPark Ruhrgebiet Information Centre"

Coal, sandstone and clay –these three raw materials from a single mountain were used at the Nachtigall Colliery. This makes the museum an ideal starting point for excursions into the Earth’s history. Visit our ‘GeoPark Ruhrgebiet’ information centre and set off from there into the Muttental valley’s numerous geological outcrops and its mining history hiking trail.

Hands-on Geology

Hard coal, sandstone, iron ore and rock salt are the raw materials that built the Ruhr region. Visitors catch a rare glimpse into the history of the earth. The GeoPark Ruhrgebiet conveys the diversity of raw materials, their origins and their benefits for humans. The Nachtigall Colliery has an information centre.
