Visitors can use the ‘Parkplatz Nachtigallstraße’ car park. The footpath* from there to the museum is 1.3 km long (approx. 18-minute of walk*).
Of the 7 parking spaces located near the museum entrance, 2 spaces are reserved for wheelchair users and people with walking disabilities.
*Path from the Nachtigallstraße car park to the museum: Head west down Nachtigallstraße. Keep left before the train crossing at the Zeche Theresia colliery and the light rail museum. Follow the road until it narrows into a forest path. Follow the forest path past the Witten Conservation Group's natural garden, then cross over the train tracks behind the “Zeche Nachtigall” station. The path then leads back to Nachtigallstraße. Turn left there. Finally, cross the train tracks again. The entrance to the LWL Museum Nachtigall Colliery can be seen on the left.

Take the S5 or the RB 40 to Witten Central Station (HBF).
From there, walk down Herbeder Straße and Im Sundern, approx. 20-minute walk.
Path from Witten Central Station:
Leave the station and turn left down the street you are on (Bergerstraße). After approx. 150 metres, turn left and follow “Herbeder Straße” until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout, keep left and follow the B226. You will come to another roundabout. Here, stay left again and take the second exit. After 150 metres, turn right onto “Im Sundern.” Follow this road for 500 metres until you reach the Nachtigallbrücke bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right onto Muttentalstraße.
